I'd argue Cody falls into the exception rule with Nunez and Diaz. Was bought for relatively big money to go straight into the first team. Which means three of our biggest first teamers in the last 4 years were from outside big 5. Considering how few we sign, that's not an insignificant number

True. We signed the young Scottish right back from Scotland, and he would fall within the same category. First eleven players traditionally are from a top 5, and rules can bend slightly for players outside that. Although as I type, Andre comes to mind. would have been a first teamer, with potential.
