That’s a popular misconception. People are cured all the time. I was cured of pyloric stenosis way back in the 50’s. Many cancers are cured. Organ transplants cure a range of problems, from kidneys to eyes. Some folks are even being cured of HIV these days.

I was not a Reds fan. Tony P was the guy in the lineup I most hated to see come up to bat late in the game with runners on. If we were picking teams, I’d choose him to hit in a clutch situation over anybody.

In today’s America the mismatch occurs because we believe that insurance is a ‘service’ that we buy, but the company sees it as a ‘product’ that they sell. Like all products sold, costs are minimized to maximize profits.
They’re not wrong, it is we that have been. Universal access fixes it.
