@geosesarma.bsky.social
huge fan of creatures
they spread and seed pretty prolifically too and deal well with foot traffic and mowing for the like 70% of the year they spend as a basal rosette so probably will be there to stay regardless now

looks like lyrata yeah, all the Disturbing you've done might have woken it up from the seed bank tbh

congrats on becoming master shake

i think the 3 type limit and caves being designed around that is what really kinda kills it it feels less like preparing and managing for what might happen and more like taking the keys the game tells you to
October 9, 2025 at 12:57 AM
Its a good game but its also kinda just 2 and also 3 mission mode without sauce
October 9, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Its just really tolerant of even like POOR poor soils. I've had it + nictitans growing mixed into my everything without issue for like 3 yrs and also sometimes it grows out of random pavement cracks now

A lot of plants can take annoyingly long doing that I have a lot of like 3 and 4 year old Baptisia I grew from seed that still has not bloomed for me yet lol but I think next year is finally gonna be the year
September 26, 2025 at 2:33 AM
did the other things like Actually Die or are they still there just putting up small wimpy stems. If its the latter they're proooooobably just putting more into root growth than top growth?
September 26, 2025 at 2:32 AM
I'm sure its not endemic anymore but like. How
September 25, 2025 at 4:16 PM
wait what do you mean The model organism next to fruit fly and danio is a hawaiian cloud forest endemic worm
September 25, 2025 at 4:16 PM
I like how you can feed them beer as a treat bc they can readily metabolize alcohol so its just grains flavored juice to them which they of course love
September 20, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Yeah that checks out. I wonder if theres any weird introduced plants around that Ocala fill dirt triops site compared to this one lol?
September 16, 2025 at 4:42 AM
Like 7 of said killifish live in My House now they're apparently very easy to breed so
September 16, 2025 at 2:56 AM
also I found a decent pop. of Fundulus rubrifrons way further down where it starts to get boggy but I think that bog is doomed lol they're putting in more apartments or hotels next to the cut and destroyed the adjacent longleaf/slash stand. Prolly not much longer till invasives and runoff eats it
September 16, 2025 at 2:56 AM
...also did you ever get similar out of the Orlando site or are Triops seemingly the only out of place thing there lol?? I was poking around back there last month and nobody in the pools but Dineutus and misc ode nymphs and toad tadpoles rn
September 16, 2025 at 2:54 AM
Are those weird western clam shrimp still there with them lol

September 10, 2025 at 11:13 PM
those muscle racks can hold like multiple aquariums per shelf as long as you have a board to distribute weight so a few boxes of vials is nothing
September 9, 2025 at 8:29 PM
This is how you know someone has never actually had them breed because what else are you supposed to do when 3 or 4 females turn into 100 edibly sized nymphs
September 9, 2025 at 12:39 PM
I got them when I took undergrad gen ento like 4 years ago bc they didnt give the class enough money to give everyone vials even though they also wanted us to collect stoneflies and caddisflies lol
September 7, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Those cheap packs of x-dram vials off of amazon have held up pretty well for my little personal collection of pickled fish and inverts
