I know I’m a data point of one, but perhaps the jobs problem is regional? I have never had a problem finding employment in California.

Longstanding assumptions that the “only geology jobs are in oil & gas” are not helping. Most geologists know that employment comes from many industries, but this is slow to trickle down to students. AGI is doing a bunch to help present broader needs & job prospects, we can help by sharing this info.

Any ideas on why that might be?
My thought is (gestures around at economy, high interest rates, & pullback of federal funding for infrastructure projects) which results in a general employment slowdown as we all wait and see.
