There were some roster surprises in “Joe Country” - but none as surprising as those in the opening of “Slough House.” Looking forward to who may (or may not) appear in the AppleTV series. (Slough House will be season 7, and will air no sooner than 2027.)

Each entry in the Slow Horses series is better than the one preceding it. I’m very interested in how the AppleTV show handles this one, since there are already some diverging storylines between the books and the show.

Oh boy is this book awful. I wish I’d quit on page 200, but no, I trudged on to page 475, foolishly thinking that something, ANYTHING would happen. I looked up the plot on Wikipedia, and oof! I will not be finishing this book or reading anything else by Hobb.

This book better improve quickly, or I will not be reading anymore books in the series. Definitely skipping the Magic Boat books.
