Also I thought it was interesting that my friend who moved here from Vietnam kept her last name (as is the norm there), but her sister who was much younger when they moved here ended up changing her name.

I get the idea (purely from watching TV shows mind you) that it might be more common in Europe for either women to keep their names or even for men to take their wives name (or hyphenate). I'm sure the US will be slow to catch up.

If you have had kids in the last 15 years or so, you've probably had the argument with at least one grandparent. Get your booster or you don't see the baby. I have no idea why they act like it's such a burden to go get one shot before the baby arrives.

I agree in principle, but my maiden name was mispronounced constantly so I was glad to change.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I've got a family and two dogs that I love dearly. Pretty sure horror fans are more well adjusted than whoever's watching 90% of the junk out there.

I almost exclusively watch horror movies. I don't really like much in other genres, and I like the mediocre ones the best.

See, this is why I will forever stan this movie. It is a movie starring a woman over 50, that isn't about being a woman over 50. Plus I'll watch anything with Lin Shaye.

Same. I'd compare it to churches, I'm not religious, but I have a lot more respect for the ones who run the food pantry down the street than I do the ones that knock on my door.

We all need to remember that we are the one country where our healthcare is tied to our employment. A lot of people can't afford a general strike because they won't just lose their job, they'll lose insurance.
