Making a CRPG about bandits doing bandit stuff and facing unexpected outcomes. Check out pinned post!
I also sometimes post cat pictures.

Aftermath of giving the cat a pill 🥲

Always alert and ready to retaliate, the cat represents reflexes.
Picking it as your main trait in Crown and Dagger will allow you to react in the blink of an eye.

Swift and nimble, the hawk represents agility.
Picking it as your main trait in Crown and Dagger will make you a machine of deadly precision.

Reliable and hard-working, the horse represents endurance.
Picking it as your main trait in Crown and Dagger will make you the last one standing in the face of hardship.

King of beasts, the lion is often used to represent strength.
Picking it as your main trait in Crown and Dagger will make you the fiercest of warriors.

The fighter archetype was the first illustration (actually more of a sketch or even a scribble at the time) I made for Crown and Dagger.

Fighters rely on physical prowess, acute senses and martial skills to overcome anyone or anything that stands in their way.

Playing with text effects to make Crown and Dagger a bit more lively, since it's, you know, 90% text.
(PS: the game is not that ugly, it's just the .gif + zoom in)

Follow-up on this post, the file size of the first chapter of Crown and Dagger is 77 Ko.
So there's technically more content with dialogues than there is with the story (at least until I write the other chapters).

Just for fun: here are the different companion dialogue file sizes (so far) in Crown and Dagger.
I swear I don't have a favourite character, he's simply very talkative.

As promised, here is the cover art for my game!
I'm curious to know what you guys think about it.

→ What is the gameplay like? 3/3

Quests are divided in chapters that can be played in any order as soon as they are unlocked (although there is only one chapter available at the current time of development).

And did I mention the achievements?

→ What is the gameplay like? 2/3

Another important aspect of the game is companions; NPCs that you can interact with in-between quests. This allows you to further develop your relationship with them and can influence the storyline.

→ What is the gameplay like? 1/3

It is pretty simple. As the story unfolds, you are regularly prompted with choices that will have impacts of various magnitude on future events. Like in any RPG, you also have stats that will determine the outcome of certain actions or events.

→ What kind of game is this? 2/2

In a few words: it heavily focuses on the story rather than the gameplay itself, but your actions in the game have consequences on said story.
Also, if you don't like the standard parchment interface, there are smoother options available.

I started making this game with the intent of recreating the feel of a TTRPG but I would best describe it as a mix of CYOA and CRPG. So basically whatever usually happens in a game is described here as a DM would in a TTRPG session, or as if you were reading a book.

I need an expert's opinion, is this one easy to recognise?

I haven't made enough progress on my #IndieGame today to show anything, so instead here's a picture of me forced to make a compromise with the little furry ball of darkness that haunts my bedroom.

Here's the last character card! At least until further development.
Speaking of which, I should have a playable version very soon.

Here's another character card. Now I'd better finish my game before I run out of these.

#IndieGame #GameArt (also still counts as #OC, right?)

I mentioned before that a big part of my game relies on companions, so here's a character card to hopefully get you intrigued.
The rest of the team will follow.

I hereby make this post as an introduction to my #IndieGame:

Crown and Dagger is a CRPG with a (mostly) non-linear storyline that depends on your decisions. Discover a meticulously crafted world, recruit companions from all walks of life, and become part of history through your deeds.
