People from China, India, Singapore, Japan, and Saudi Arabia, among others, won't want to give up the citizenship of their country of origin and are not allowed dual citizenship. Hardly the sort of people you would expect an anti-immigrant strategy would want to target.

I favour the idea that this isn't about nuclear weapons or regime change but regime destruction. Democracy is the last thing the US wants for its perceived enemies. If you can't get an autocrat in your pocket then chaos is the best option.
