Labor and Liberal combined to support the miners and fossil fuel companies by refusing to properly tax them. Happy to accept donations from them though! The Greens do not accept donations from corporates and are fighting to tax these corporates and fund Australian societal needs.

If there was any doubt it was Trump related, see the polling over time for preferred party in Aus. The blue line (our conservative) tracks alright until January then drops like a rock, coinciding with Trump taking power

Support for both major parties declined, but The coalition (conservative) sees a sharp decrease after Jan 2025, while Labor sees a sudden upward turn at the same point. Support for the Greens' and other minor parties all increased over that same period.
