We paid $$$$ to have our basement waterproofed: foundation drainage, sump pump, and dehumidifier.
Reaction 1 of seeing a pool of water was, it's under warranty.
Reaction 2, dang that's from the ceiling meaning outside snow removal.
Reaction 3, that's the humidifier. Not good but the cheapest fix.

I love our morning walks, especially when I lose myself in #novel brainstorming. That's easy when Sam is a character and a neighbor's farm is a scene location.
Today, I discovered the link from a scene in Act 1 to a new #subplot. A different neighbor's tale of visiting that location made it pop.

I finished my final, final I say, draft of Act 1 of my first #novel. This shall be the setting for my opening scene of Act 2. Well, kinda. It will seem more like early Medieval Europe to my protagonist. At least that is my current idea before writing a word on this side of the portal.

Yesterday it was the weasel, today we're checking on our fox! Our property drops down to a marsh, then back up a tall hill.

Our fisher cat #weasel is getting too close to our coop. He wiped out 7/8 of our prior flock. I've improved the coop mesh and closed some tiny weasel sized holes, but this is no time to relax and lower our guard.
We need Sam to pee here.

In case you were wondering, yes I'm an #AOL alum. Founder and director of the Internet Operations team. And I have evidence. It is still just 33 degrees, but it must be warmer in the clouds. The snow on the roof slides about a foot before the overhang breaks off. Normally we'd see the entire snow layer slide off at once. #floodwatch in #Vermont.

A small chunk of snow slid from the central chimney area of the western house roof. Everything else is hanging in there. #NWS forecast is a storm warning for 1pm to 10am.
