Just some undercoating this afternoon plus some painting/colouring in this evening. Quite enjoying using the Ak paint pens although some colours cover better than others (White is not the best, even over light grey)

May have accidentally popped into the Lidl near work…

Well the Spitfire is a good bit closer to having the base colours down albeit with a brass aerial to replace the lost original.

Hurricane is ready for undercoating. I dug a 109E out of the stash to do next then ended up starting it so some sub assemblies are ready for undercoat.

Slowly progressing, not helped today by a power cut followed by the burglar alarm throwing a wobbler and not shutting up (I did turn off the internal alarm via controlled dismantling).

Pens are working but several coats needed to get good coverage over the light grey undercoat I stuck on.

Finally a little more progress after a rough few days. Even dug another one out of the stash and started that.

Modelling desk of chaos naturally.

When your delivery is the free gift but doesn’t include the thing you ordered 🤔

Not gone entirely to plan so far shall we say… painting on sprue didn’t work well as needed and undercoat. Undercoated in sprue has not led to the easiest assembly and o really don’t get on with extra thin. Hopefully on track now, plenty lessons learned for the next one.

Hobby time. Painting or colouring in?

First Airfix kit in forever, thought I’d try something simple first and I had most of the right colour pens apart from the brown, think I’ve a green which might work.

Testing the limits of my DIY abilities…

Got warned by the guy from British Gas fitting our Hive controller that the boiler vent hadn’t been sealed properly when installed.

All 4 screws sheared on the bottom bracket, extra bracket added and all screws replaced. Several more had sheered when I took them out. Dodgy DIY complete.

Digging in the front garden is always an adventure, seems like the builders dumped a load of rubble under there and covered it with topsoil. This is one of the bigger lumps to come out so far. Thankfully the back gardens fine.

Airfix were feeling generous, only ordered a single brush to meet the free shipping threshold.

I always forget the before pic but there’s been a big cut back at the front of the house. Just on done now then maybe some new plants to go in.

Working in the garden seems to be helping in my recovery.

Unusual flyover for us this evening - presume it’s an A400 Atlas as second pic. Maybe with drop tanks fitted.

Been quiet lately due to health issues but despite waking up far too early I did get to watch a couple of our house martin nests take their first flights this morning while it did some yoga outside in the cool.

Nice little tangent to go off on and actually read rather than listened to this one.
