Not really, but poor beam focusing and poor positioning are an issue. Just use German standard StVZO compliant lights.

I just tell it as I remember. As a kid I just thought it normal, but in 90 degree summer heat cold food wasn't the worst option.

I remember learning a version of this in 1st year geology, using a sledgehammer as an energy source & geophones on the ground. Profiling the subsurface was done using Hagedoorn interpretation.
