tOSU PhD Student.
I like to use GIS to analyze coastal hazards. Fashionista.
Views and opinions are my own.
Curious if anyone has successfully negotiated a department’s stipend offer as GRA? (This was asked from an incoming PhD student who just received an offer)

Very disappointed to hear Lyft is ending their bike services in Columbus, Ohio.
I do not have the space to own a bike, thankfully the bike docking was right in front of my complex. The bike share was a great way for me to bike 1 mile to campus on sunny days ☹️

There are whispers going around that the presidential budget request for various science agencies will be at the level that would completely destroy them and American science. I'm talking 30-50% cuts at NASA, NOAA, NSF. There's a long way between requests and actual budgets, but

Great demonstration why we have a PhD advertised on coastal erosion at coastal forts. Pic left shows erosion scar on grass where a huge section of cultural deposits beneath are beginning to slump into sea. Pic Right shows more erosion @drtobydriver.bsky.social @diggermann.bsky.social

I am about to out myself. Hi, my name is Michael, and I am an absolute novice at coding and Python. I am trying to sort some metabolites into categories and pathways via Kegg en masse. Bonus if I can choose the organism. Does anyone know of any GitHub scripts that do this that I can work with?

Scientists complaining about the loss of the GRE to evaluate PhD applicants & ignoring the many articles showing its biased and does not predict success in grad. school makes me question their science.

So creative in their own discipline, but not in this area where they have limited experience.

Hi again.
Not officially onboard with this app just yet but will be soon. My adjustment disorder makes big changes like this very hard. I have to ease into it. Give me a few months. Hope everyone is safe and happy
