Sampling water from cenote south of Aqua Azul. This was to be negative control site since little tourist or human activities but we found lots of plastic. On to the next one….

We use the pool to train and test out the equipment before we head to the cenotes (sinkhole). Next week we will be doing this without the safety of the shallow pool

First day field sampling water quality at a cenote (local word for sinkhole) in the Yucatán Peninsula. The REUers tried out different sampling techniques. Great start for our science adventure.

No Kings peaceful protests in DeKalb, Il. A friend stopped counting the crowds at 1100. I rode my bike, wore a Roe shirt, red/white/blue socks, earrings from Mexico, crochet a Ukrainian bandana and fight oligarchy sign.

Sampling groundwater wells outside Bangkok for geochemistry and microplastics. This is our last sampling for Ohm’s thesis research. We got the Department of Groundwater Resources interested in future projects.

Today I did a presentation about microplastics in Kuching, Sarawak Malaysia. The Hilton had recycled paper pens and wood key cards.

Tonight was the first time 100 Cassettes from the Philippines was performed in USA. We all had a “cassette” of sounds from the Philippines. We would walk around to experience the sounds and and flavors of the region. It was so interesting.
