@octopus.energy I just had to delete and reconnect my devices. IO has offered a 2 hour slot to charge 50%. ~35-40kWh in two hours with a 7kW charger… something doesn’t add up!

“Boss, where should we leave the signs when we’re not using them?”
“Just chuck them on the cycle path, that’ll do”

Made it to the Sir Chris Hoy velodrome with child 1 today for the first time. Incredible venue.
Hitting those steep corners for the first time is scary but so much fun.

Local campaign group Bearsden Safer Streets need our help. They are asking for local folk to contact their councillors to express support for piloting a 20mph limit across all streets in Bearsden - without exemptions.
Please look here and help if you can.

We need you to take action against proposed 20mph amendments
Amendments have been proposed to the 20mph trial that risk exempting key roads and collision blackspots. Here is an urgent action we need supporters to take.

Frustrating to see @privateeyenews.bsky.social calling this an accident.
Being three times over the drink-drive limit and getting behind the wheel is not an accident, but a deliberate choice by Dosunmu.

How do you take a cargo bike for a service and get home again?
Put your bike in a bike!

Loads of parents & kids cycling to West rugby club this morning, but still no safe routes.

I’ll admit to breaking a road rule today.
Light turned red ahead of me. I could have stopped, but didn’t. Car behind me flew through, so if I had stopped, I’d be flattened.
20+ years of sharing the road with cars and my spidey-senses are finely honed.
Bike lanes: good for everyone.

"It was found that just 4.9% of cyclists broke road rules when they were riding on cycleways. This rose to 14% of cyclists when there was no cycling infrastructure present."
This video camera study showed that less than 5% of people on bikes broke traffic laws while riding, yet 66% of people did so when driving. And if you REALLY want even MORE bike-riders to obey laws, build more protected bike infrastructure. Via @carltonreid.com

I’d like to see @octopus.energy offer a tariff for EV & solar/home battery owners that works in the winter better.
Lack of sunlight means our battery usually runs out just in time for afternoon peak. A second cheap window at 2-4ish (with higher £ peak) would see us through.

@kennymunro.bsky.social good to find you here.
I’m reopening the defunct rat-run access road on Bearsway (Alexander Grove) with the council.
Can copy you in some emails if you’ve got the energy.

@magnatom.bsky.social I joined a call this morning to show and state support for A807 redetermination and speed limit reduction. Was outnumbered by objectors stating the same old nonsense, but not outgunned and thankfully it’s still all going ahead.
Was mention of “cyclists with helmet cameras”

More path clearing cardio today on the school run. Amazing what 10 minutes here and there can achieve!

A very satisfying 14 minutes spent this morning. Needs some willow spiling to finish it properly.

I felt furious at the time (and nervous on my bike), and now even more furious at the total lack of action.
6 months on from Una’s death and nothing has changed in East Dunbartonshire to make it safer to walk & cycle.
The council has a long list of quick (and less quick) wins from the active travel consultation carried out THREE YEARS AGO.
