There is no doubt that Unai will have the players practicing and practicing those types of shots. This doesn’t happen by accident.

From the BBC report:
“In an era where xG is so prevalent, Emery's clinical team have scored 13 goals from outside the penalty area in the Premier League this season – the most of any side in the competition.”
January 25, 2026 at 5:28 PM
And scored another worldly from outside the box……what idiots said that was unsustainable?
January 25, 2026 at 5:25 PM
I thought that too but it turns out we’ve lost again on xG. Newcastle 2.3 Aston Villa 1.16.
January 25, 2026 at 4:32 PM
I’m a believer - probably because of nostalgia more than anything else.

I agree. Too inconsistent. Had a spell where he turned into a flapper when dealing with corners - to be fair though he’s got better at this in the last 2-3 games. But always seems to pick up niggley injuries.

🤣🤣
January 9, 2026 at 12:36 PM
We won didn’t we. We scored 0.31 more goals than they did. 😉😉

Goldstein clearly a basket case just like Manure. #UTV
January 6, 2026 at 5:37 PM
I was there too 😱😱😱
January 6, 2026 at 5:35 PM
Comedy Gold 🤣🤣🤣🤣
January 1, 2026 at 12:42 AM
Yeh but that Chelsea game doesn’t count because Chelsea scored 2.35 goals and the Villa only scored 1.25.
#UTV!
December 27, 2025 at 8:25 PM
I’ve just read a Jonathan Wilson Guardian article from Saturday which is about the Villa and where there is some recognition that maybe xG is dog shit. And that maybe “character & mentality” are very relevant.
December 23, 2025 at 11:47 AM
From The Guardian’s report on today’s game:
“England forward’s brilliance is proving difficult to stop but Unai Emery will surely not be able to keep relying on him every time”.

It’s just not sustainable…….😂😂😂

When will the media learn? #UTV
December 21, 2025 at 8:14 PM
But that can’t be right because BBC Sport said this today:

“Arsenal are now widely viewed as one of the strongest teams in European football.” 😂😂😂

#UTV
December 15, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Yeh but scoring goals from outside the box is unsustainable and if your xG is low you’re not going to win games are you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 UTV!

Have you got access to “Digimap for Schools”? You can use the historical and up to date OS maps to illustrate the amount of coastal erosion that has taken place and it supports what you have shown here.
November 27, 2025 at 8:34 AM
And the Guardian article goes on to state:

“But so severe was the risk that it is estimated specialist riot police would have had to be drafted in from around the country if the ban was reversed.”

At last someone talking sense.

Oh and by the way along with many many beings walking the streets of Witton I think I’m one of those those being referred to who at each home game is a threat to visiting fans 😉😉🤣🤣🤣
October 21, 2025 at 2:03 PM
There not one of these “politicians” who has any sort of grasp of what is happening.
October 20, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Thank you Jacob for writing this article. This is truly inspirational. And DMD is a condition that does need much wider coverage.
October 8, 2025 at 4:09 PM
And still there are idiots on AVFC forums who question Unai’s track record at the Villa…..absolute idiots!
October 6, 2025 at 5:51 PM
My Villa journey started in 1969-70. Relegated to Division 3. I was 8.
September 23, 2025 at 10:40 PM
And some of our “comrades” now believe it was better when Purslow and Gerrard were around and that Monchi is the first domino to fall and that Unai considered resigning in the summer and that our owners have had enough and are about to sell up……………….
