I've got that album! She's good.

Must be the way they tell 'em.

If AI can produce text that doesn't contain that brain-dead space-filler "Going forward", I'll go out and buy one tomorrow.

I remember him! Had some unorthodox domestic arrangements, as I recall.

I've done two spells, and my experience was:
- if we convict him he might to to prison and I don't want that on my conscience
- he could be my son, so I'm not going to convict him
- we weren't there so we can't know for sure what happened.
If I were a guilty defendant I'd always opt for jury trial.

2/2 When she reached my team she asked, in that faux-earnest, patronising tone of hers, "Now, is there anything I can do that would make your job easier?". To be fair to us, we were very, very good ....

1/2 When I worked at the Department of Health the Secretary of State, Patricia Hewitt, came round on that tour these people do where they meet the staff and pretend to be interested in them.

Went to watch the Blue Jays play when I was in Toronto a few years back. What I hadn't realised until then is that they chuck you out if you throw the ball back.

This will be very sad news if it happens. It's the place to go for the best cheese toasties in London!

If Wolfie delivers again, it's possible. Otherwise, I don't think they have enough runs in them. But what do I know?

It's very likely simply to increase pressure on A&E departments, I'd have thought.

Thank you for posting this. The incident involving Learie Constantine is well-known, as he was a world-renowned cricketer, but I'd never heard of Amelia King's story.

I always make sure to have a dictionary handy when I'm reading your posts.

Ouch! Can't watch it today, but it looks like they made a decent start, too. But if you remove Wolfie, the batting can be fragile, can't it? That's some performance by Kingy, though.

Can't see Taylor losing too much sleep over that! She could probably buy The Grauniad with the small change she carries in her purse.

To be fair, it's not a sport I have any interest in, but I tuned in for The Big Event. Even allowing for the fact that I don't follow the game, I had no idea what was going on half the time.

Must confess that had escaped me! I'd assumed Tammy would take on the job if anything happened to Amy Jones.
September 27, 2025 at 10:51 AM
That's the point I'm (cack-handedly!) making. She's worked phenomenally hard to improve first her keeping and then her batting. It would be nice to think she might get some recognition for that.

Rhianna Southby at no. 18. Is that the Rhianna Southby who "can't bat"?
September 27, 2025 at 7:47 AM
It's late if you work nights, though.

Haven't really thought this one through, have they? Or maybe they have.
September 12, 2025 at 7:50 PM
The Beatles would be about as close as you'd get, I'd have thought.

Surrey's Roger Harman for me. Apart from the obvious ones (Boycott, MJK), he was the first bespectacled player I'd seen.
September 11, 2025 at 11:37 AM
Well, unless the weather forecasters are having an absolute 'mare, it looks like there's zero chance of any cricket at Beckenham tomorrow, so I reckon this one's going to be a Durham v Surrey shoot-out on Saturday.

Ooh ooh, cancel that! Dani Gregory's a better call, she never seems to be not picked.
