I think he’s painted himself into a corner where there really isn’t a capable CF backup on the bench unless Brujan makes the team. So it came down to giving Workman back or bailing on Canario. That’s still basically on Jed though…..

I’m more than fine with this. This was an absolutely essential add imo. But yeah I kinda doubt he makes even one start at 3B.

Honestly I’ve never really had a problem with the guy but the condescending way he talks to Lance and Cole on Cubs Live has started to irk me. And this other misinformation doesn’t help either.

I don’t love it. But let’s at least acknowledge that Berti is a far superior OBP guy than Madrigal. Madrigal has hovered around 300 lately and Berti is basically Ian Happ when it comes to OBP. Now SPEND the money you saved by being cheap!!!

Scott was not how I wanted them to spend most of their remaining budget. But the options to add an impact player in FA are dwindling. If we round out this offseason with Kyle Finnegan and Yoan Moncada it’s all feeling very B-
