It is very difficult to establish the number of LGBTIQ refugees in Kenya, as most are in the closet or living double lives in heterosexual relationships due to societal stigma.

#LGBT #Refugees didn't just escape a place. We had to escape a thousand memories until we'd put enough time and distance between them & our misery to wake to a better day. It is the obligation of every person born in a safer room to open the door when someone in danger knocks 🌈

Israel has destroyed an entire city. Made it uninhabitable. 90% reduced to rubble. Universities, residential tower blocks, hospitals. Everything. One million people homeless. It's a truly historic crime. How anyone in their right mind can think this is justifiable for any reason

There are very many LGBT individuals around the world, who who have been expelled from schools, denounced by their families, fired from their work places whereas others have also been evicted from their different places of residence leaving them homeless.

LGBT refugees we have come in a situation where we are not allowed to express ourselves, when criminalized for being who we are and loving differently. But regardless we are strong 💪🌈
