Hey I’m still wondering how much these “retail theft operations” are costing?

Okay this is officially the best thing I’ve read today:

‘The technique proves a backdoor "to provide partial oxygen support while allowing the lungs to rest," he added.’

@404media.bsky.social’s spectacular podcast title jumping to the top of my queue… it’s intentional right?

Based on a quick Google, I have a guess that the OP meant C-Suite jobs.

According to an Investopedia page updated July 2024, “men still constitute 72% of the C-suite.” Seems like a reasonable enough proxy for “best jobs” to me.

NYT is telling us with a straight face here that 60% women is “significantly skewed” and that the “trend is clear.”

White men really didn’t mind when it was 100% white men at universities. Now there are like 500 more women than men at a small school and they’re offended.

I was this many years old when I learned that Congress could pass stuff by yelling “yea” enough. We still do that??

Apparently the kid actually did not get into UCLA (or USC) lol

Given then she thinks “Ivy League” schools are apparently “festering hive[s] of gender orcs, Hamas kids, Jew haters, Trump haters, white haters, communists, and nonbinary furries” I think everyone is probably okay with that

FWIW Sinema was running against Martha McSally when elected in 2018. I voted for Sinema in that general election, and I'd do it again if it were the same situation. That race was NASTY to watch living in AZ.

The unfortunate reality is that Arizona is not an ally.

Things I love about Safari on desktop. Day #1!

It's actually easy to set Safari to open the browser in a "Private" window by default. I don't need cookies or history longer than a session--delete that junk!S

No data is being deleted, right? This isn’t covering anything up. Any seizure backed by an appropriate legal process should allow access to this data through cooperation with the device’s owner.

How is the behavior described here any different than what cops are doing?

I was in Flagstaff at the time, and what a beautiful group it was. Incredibly saddened to be back here, and maybe worse off, again a few years later.

The report suggests, based on Census data, that the population in most of these neighborhoods is over 50% white. Chinatown International District neighborhood does not match that trend in census data, but the report suggests it for all other proposed neighborhoods.

Forgive me for not trusting that Seattle’s proposed CCTV pilot will be “data-informed” enough to avoid racial biases, when the following paragraph claims that the cameras will only “record people who choose to be in a public place where the technologies are being used.”
