Over a year ago, my father died of Alzheimer’s when I was in Belfast. The end of “the long goodbye,” as they call it. I started this poem on the way from Derry to Drumcliffe, to visit Yeats’ grave. Thanks to @nimrodjournal.bsky.social for putting it in such a fine issue!
