Elbows up
I expect this lineup will fail miserably… but appreciate there’s a thought that Dach plays on the wing.
(if true)

Misère.. il tient a ses 3 trios médiocres au lieu de miser sur un top 6.

Ca fait penser à ses 2 PP égaux pour commencer l’année.

I actually I still hope he does.. because I think the team would benefit long term.

I actually hate how Slaf has had that spot regardless of performance for 3 yrs… would be good for him to change things up, and assume leadership of another line.

But not holding my breath :)

Last year he was used on the 3rd/4th line, then was hit by a car.

He’s now fully recovered & used on top lines.
Wouldn’t waste too much time comparing production :)

Love the player, wish he was still here… but I still make that trade everyday of the week & twice on Sunday.

Very true.. deserves being said.

Tough times all around, but everyone improves a bit if our guys btw the posts start looking solid.. so please let it be so soon :)

Issue is Habs D is already soft… Engstrom in for Struble would only make that aspect worse.

But if Struble or Xhekaj isn’t playing well enough to stay in the lineup, at some point.. so be it, give another kid a shot.
November 14, 2025 at 10:18 PM
Yup.. though I’d add another callup (or signing) so Veleno goes back to 13th.
November 14, 2025 at 10:13 PM
He also thought 2 equal PP’s was a good idea :)

But yeah, he tends to not try the obvious, like calling up Davidson, until he has no choice.

As mentioned, try Bolduc-Dach-Demidov first.. but if it doesn’t mesh, at some point he’ll get it.

Fine then.. McKenna as 2C

Think I jinxed it when I cleaned up my favourites & removed the tankathon link a few weeks back.
November 14, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Brutal.. obviously my initial thought is did Ghule really need to wait a month or so before getting the operation?
Geez.
November 14, 2025 at 7:42 PM
I know.. Dobes got a few more starts near the end of their road trip a few weeks back, but seems back in « we trust Monty » mode for now.

I choose to believe that if he struggles again in Boston & Dobes follows with a stronger game he’ll get more.
Not ideal given he was pulled last game.

Should have been to replace Veleno weeks ago.. but here we are, it’s for Newhook.

Anyone else doing well in Laval?
November 14, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Something that was needed for weeks now.. annoying that it took Newhook’s injury, and frankly it shouldn’t be the only callup.
November 14, 2025 at 7:02 PM
They lost me, casual fan, when the league moved to Apple TV.. this will hurt them with casual fans again.

They better have a really solid & loyal group of avid fans… which I struggle to understand even exist given how the team is run & performs.
November 14, 2025 at 6:43 PM
I certainly understand the sentiment.. but I don’t believe in untouchable lines that can never change.

If a switch can get you 2 great lines instead, I definitely try it.

I feel Slaf would really benefit.. with 13/14 he’s devolved into a mainly a puck retriever, he’d do more on line 2.
November 14, 2025 at 6:33 PM
I know Marty won’t want to touch the 1st line and I get it.. but I think it may actually help Slaf, Dach & Demidov each in their own way.

Good to have the option anyway, hope we see it at one point.
November 14, 2025 at 6:18 PM
Time to load up top6, same as they loaded up PP1 when Laine went down.

Start with 1st line & Bolduc-Dach-Dem… but if it doesn’t work don’t wait too long to try:
Caufield-Suzuki-Demidov
Bolduc-Dach-Slafkovsky
November 14, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Marty views Monty as the established #1 & Dobes as the rookie backup.

That’s all it is.

He also remembers Dobes having the same start last year, and was completely lost afterwards.

They need both, I put the onus on the two to be good when called upon… much more than Marty’s start selection.
November 14, 2025 at 5:57 PM
Encouraged by Slaf improvement this season… but his puck skills, passing & shooting, were ironically better 2 yrs ago.

I honestly think part of it is his deference to 13/14.
I believe him being reunited with Dach on the 2nd line, he might assert himself more & rekindle his puck skills.
November 14, 2025 at 3:59 AM
Can Habs at least get a Rouge then?

Poor crowd tonight.. not single chance to cheer, 7 against & a long term injury.

Terrible.
November 14, 2025 at 2:23 AM
The line’s offense was principally from Demidov.. NH’s presence on that line was mainly to give the rookie good defensive support & structure.
November 14, 2025 at 2:06 AM
Still have Suzuki, Dach, Kapanen, Evans… Hughes not forced to deal from a position of « extra » weakness now IMO.

But we certainly don’t need a C any less now :)
November 14, 2025 at 2:02 AM
I hear you, but on the other hand Laine was on the 4th line & 2nd PP that barely got any mins and Newhook had a defensive role this yr.

Losing guys in those 2 chairs shouldn’t bring a team down.

Try
1st line
Bolduc-Dach-Demidov Anderson-Evans-Gally
& callup 3 Rocket 4th

Next: flip Slaf & Dem
