I've tried applying for CZI funding. Like many foundations, it's opaque. Got encouraged to submit a full proposal, but didn't get the $$. Why? No idea, because there's no feedback.

At least with NIH and NSF you generally get reviews to improve your work.

At my polling place at least, the poll workers were really good at telling people there were two sides to the ballot and be sure to flip it over.

I think information definitely got out as far as flyers, but I think Allegheny County got through to the poll workers too to remind us about both sides

I think they're angling into the Canva subscriptions through schools. So Affinity becomes the free option vs. expensive Adobe subscriptions - particularly for K-12.

So then these students push to use it in future jobs, etc. over Adobe.

And yes, maybe they think the AI features will bring $$

Yes - I've been mostly opening small molecules.. so when I opened a protein and it froze I had to go fix it.
