We have surrendered our own country. Trump's surrendered the presidency to Elon Musk who is explicitly in favor of undermining the west to Russia and China's benefit. The bottom line is that one third of my country might as well be Russia, and the rest are too demoralized or couldn't give a damn.

I would further add that the right wing takeover of our media, defunding of public schools, and deregulating everything around public health/food safety is in the long run designed to create a peasent class to that end.

Evangelicals and a lot of the American right yearn for us to be like Russia. They just see their movement to be a "moral guide" for society in a role like the Orthodox Church plays. Something similar to Russian lawlessness is the ideal of a lot of the American right in general.
