Good morning #GISChat! Does anyone out there have any good resources on the topic of tile servers? I've been working on my own for geoCML, but I'm running into a few issues.

Get up in the morning and pre-render your tile server cache, call it wake and bake.

Every once in a while, I decide to go on X as a form of self harm. Over the last few months, the amount of AI generated slop has FLOODED the feed. People don’t understand it, so they go in the comments and @ grok and perplexity to explain the content.

#GISChat Do you use light-mode or dark-mode when you're working on your desktop GIS?

The language breakdown of my Tauri app sort of looks like the party demographics of Congress lol

There's been such a flood of headlines over the last month that I totally missed that FiveThirtyEight was shuttered, and their staff laid off earlier this month. I was always a huge fan of their datasets... What a loss ):

Not sure what Tabor is?

Tabor is a command line utility that allows you to define and create PostGIS database schemas from an easy to read, maintainable YAML file.

The Tabor v0.3.1 patch release is out now! If you're running geoCML v0.3.1, you'll automatically get the update after redeploying the geoCML Task Scheduler container.

For those using indev geoCML v4.0, pull from main or update the gTS make file to point to Tabor v0.3.1. Redeploy, and you're set!

Sorry you haven't heard much from me recently; I'm still hard at work on geoCML v4.0. This is shaping up to be the most consequential geoCML update yet, and I think you're really going to like it when it's all finished. I'll probably write a post teasing some release changes soon (:

Portland please salt the roads when it snows babe please. We don’t have to shut the entire city down for an inch of snow. Every major city does this babe. It’ll be soooooo good for the economy and it’ll keep people safe babe. For me babe?

#GISChat! I'm doing a little poll... When you publish a map, what fonts are you most commonly using? Which ones do you avoid, but you see others using all the time?
February 12, 2025 at 3:39 PM
lol come on Google… if you’re not going to give me a REAL map, at least put a pin down so I know I’m not just staring at a big blue rectangle.

I have some good news, and I have some bad news. The bad news is that the geoCML v4.0 release is getting pushed back from March to July 2025. The GOOD NEWS is that there are some exciting changes in the release plan that I think you’ll all enjoy.

This is going to be a huge release, I’m so excited!

When people say something like "I've used Emacs for 10 years", they always say it like they're a recovering alcoholic.
