I sat at that first desk and browsed the books on all sides around me, whilst my wife wandered from stack to stack, quiet joy.

this would of course feed into your desire for a small seaside book store and magic emporium in the future.

as a professional (rare book dealer) can I suggest that you turn your toxic trait and possible lack of space around by shedding any cheaper books and concentrating on rare ones. Thus less books to ignore, + investment for the future and significant benefits for the community of rare book dealers.

have questions over the legality of this, however a prize for the best photo/video of burning/exploding/crashing Tesla would be merely honouring reportage, also would be a bloody funny montage

I would guess black Welsh mountain sheep, not badger face they lack the white markings on face and ears.

Where I lived these were known as Shinies (never been of road, no mud) farmers/contractors used to go to big towns to buy then second hand because little chance of off road damage.

In the 1980's I compressed all UK addresses c30 Million into 100mb, multiply by 6 (For USA) treble to account for Names (harder to compress than addresses) total c 2GB then use as a key to other information. A raspberry PI 5 could comfortably process all US data almost instantaneously.

Information Technology has a long history in this area. It is now not possible to simply burn the records and or alter the cards, collected data with backup and archive systems is almost impossible to destroy unless such a plan was part of systems design.

This is really disaster planning rather than investment planning
e.g. 200 1oz silver coins easily cashed in any pawn shop.

As you might guess I am somewhat fearful of possible outcomes. My wife 🍁 suggests to all American based Family and friends that a move to 🍁 might be desirable.

Our choice was gold and silver (bought at Auction to achieve the best price, this is in UK may not be true in US) split into jewellery and coins Georgian silver achieved a 30%+ capital gain ( investment may go down as well as up😀) In the business I have emphasised higher value books $300-$10,000.🧵

In 2016 we decided the most serious risk is partial societal breakdown i.e. state confiscation of pensions and other assets, high levels of unemployment and therefore crime and failure of some commercial orgs. We decided to invest in physical things, as well as cash and some shares via pensions.🧵

Unfortunately 47 and the rat are not predictable and may sink the world economy. ETF's in this context are just gambling, might usefully hedge a loss but otherwise 🤷‍♀️🧵

I read that as madness (dyslexic) and thought it was some abstruse literary reference I didn't get. However I do get the exquisite pleasure of "madeleines" for me it is Tournedos Rossini always in an up market Italian restaurant, despite it being essentially a French dish. Hard to find😒

In my case an accident of birth, my mother had bought antiquarian books as a student and I learnt not to crayon in the endpapers as a child. (after I retired from working as a data consultant I went on a 3 day course www.yabseminar.com which firmed up my resolve)
