Another photo from today.
Hands Off! on the Lyman Bridge at the border of NH and VT. It was very well organized and there was a string of folks into WRJ, VT and back into W Lebanon, NH. Considering the rural location it was a fantastic turnout. 🇺🇸

The Hands Off demonstration spilled from WRJ VT across the river to Lebanon NH. In spite of the weather hundreds and hundreds showed up. Get ready for the Upper Valley Coalition’s event on May 1st at Colburn Park, Lebanon, NH. I’ll be there, will you?

A shout out to Senator Jeff Merkley for asking if Donald Trump is a Russian asset during Senate hearings. I have admired and respected the Senator for years. He went on to list the 5 things an asset would do, all of which Trump has done.

Today, Gov. Ayotte's COGE meeting was held with little notice to legislators and without an option for the public to livestream the meeting.

As the Federal Govnmt under Trump blocks or cancels approved grants my City Council approved a resolution calling for our elected State&Federal elected officials to demand these approved funds be released. As a City Councilor&NH State Rep I am proud of the citizens of my community for taking action.

As our State&Federal Govts devolve to an autocracy, read this.”Pro-democracy Organizing against Autocracy in the United States: A Strategic Assessment & Recommendations”. Harvard Kennedy School. Lays out strategies to pursue, stop, delay or minimize damage as we slide away from our cherished democracy.

As a Citizen Legislator in the NH House ($100 a year,no stipend) I ask, when will legislators and citizens realize that healthcare insurance and property taxes are the biggest personal budget challenges. This is why many older people work part time to make ends meet. What’s wrong with this picture.

No surprises today. We have to be a very vocal, & loud minority in the NH House. Most importantly we will need to have a disciplined message about our State’s economy and how Republican control of State Government has-been the true cause of rising property taxes and and a “cost of living crises”!

Granite Staters should be very concerned that the first actions of the new Republican majority were focused on shutting them out of the process. #NHPolitics

@sammondoa.bsky.social can you add me to your NH State Reps starter pack if you update it. Thanks. I’m in my 7th term and the Ranking Member of the Transportation Committee. Thanks; and I found it quite useful.

Today the NH House assembles. It will be a tough year for Progressives and Democrats. It will be a battle for a just and compassionate session over the next two years. As a Democrat I will strive to fulfill the understanding that much has been given to us, and much is owed in return.
