Friends who chat about the genera of plants which enhance our lives and ecosystems. Plants first (botany) then associated wildlife, then indigenous uses foraging, growing, and herbalism.
We are here to help promote connection to the more than human world.
No justice, no peace.

Sue him for slander too. Make him foot the bill on the economic impact of his stupidity, it at least the small part from the impact on tourism. Say a few hundred million. Still small compared to the net impact on taxpayers but at least it's something that might make him think twice

Clovers (Trifolium) have round leaves in sets of three. The emoji has clearly heart-shaped leaves and is an Oxalis but IDK if they intended it to be clover and got it wrong, or intended Oxalis and got it right. Neat to know that Oxalis is used for good luck. I wonder what 'Shamrock' originally meant

A four-leaved Oxalis! Is it lucky like a four-leaved clover? Since the shamrock emoji is a Woodsorrel (Oxalis), I would assume so, but it seems possible to me that the emoji is just wrong.

Already there, friend. What's next?

Thank you! I had never heard of this. The meteorological seasons make a lot more sense to me. I'll consider all of September to be summer and all of December to be winter from now on.

Lovely! Thank you for sharing. I was hoping to get some more seasonal signs in response. Can you believe that I thought Nyssa sylvatica was one of the species that isn't native North of PA!? But they are native up to Burlington, VT and Southern ME.

Well good on you. I can't bring myself to hope that that evil fascist survives, but I at least hope that there's no more political violence, and that people like Kirk will stop promoting it.

Uh oh, I don't see MA projecting into the ocean in that map. Perhaps I should move to the Great lakes, which are supposed to have a particularly stable climate.

Did you forget Shane Tamura? We already had another real Luigi.
September 9, 2025 at 11:47 PM
What about Shane Tamura?
September 9, 2025 at 11:46 PM
So did Shane Tamura. But he also killed innocent people, in addition to Wesley.
September 9, 2025 at 11:46 PM
Well I was sorry for the police officer that got shot. I expect Wesley Lapatner is responsible for more deaths than any cereal killer in history. I wish she, and the United Healthcare CEO had gotten the electric chair, but vigilante justice is all we have.

Yellow Garden Spiders used to build big webs in the shrubs that surrounded the entrance to our house when I was a kid. A giant one blocked the door with a web once. I haven't seen one in over a decade though.

Lovely! Erigeron pulchellus?
