Wanted to draw something without being perfectionist about it so I used the cheapest marker in my room. I've completely underestimated the Crayola marker, it was actually pretty nice to use.

Thinking about that moment in Kurt Vonnegut's Mother Night where a character stops walking because he realizes that he's used complacency to cope with things outside of his control for so long that "What froze me was the fact that I had absolutely no reason to move in any direction". Me rn fr.

Sketched a character and saving a palette reference. The upturned corners of the lips are actually part of the lip makeup so that it makes a smile shape even when her face is neutral. Also I wanted to add something sort of vampire-teeth-like.

I felt that I'm drawing faces too constrained so I tried 10 minute sketches of randomized portraits from Line of Action and... ouch.

Interesting how my favorite characters in HSR have great designs but then the character who I thought looked actually atrocious (Sampo) is also the most interesting character in the game. I'm biased to like his design now because it's as wonky as he is.

Staring for 10 minutes made me see a lady holding a flower crown. I like how the colors splatter with a lot of shape and color variety, it scratches my brain nicely.

As someone who's been conditioned to love knight designs by the Shovel Knight games I adore your characters. The lamp knight is my favorite. Wonderful art, so glad I discovered it!
