I have never been more traumatized than realizing that the new shows I watched in the 90s are now the nick at night lineup.

Turned 45 yesterday and in the best way possible it just hit differently.

Proud of where I am and the community of friends and family that surrounds me.

Don't forget to look for inspiration off-line. If your primary sources are pinterest that means it's already been curated by someone else. Go deep dive into bookstores, pull out old photobooks your relatives still keep around, EXPLORE, Go Spelunking for the culture artifacts that weren't digitized.

I'm finally digging into @scalzi.com marvelous "When the Moon Hits Your Eye" and came across this little jab at Andy Wier

You know what sucks?
Blu-ray box sets.

You know what sucks more?
Not being able to stream Twin Peaks anywhere in Mexico.

Johnny Mnemonic in Black and White is a seriously different film. More stylish cybernoir that evens out a lot of the 90s effects rough edges. #scifi

I’m amused that for perhaps the first time in my adult life buying my tech locally in Mexico will make more economic sense than buying in the US.

Can artist use these tools trained by scrapping every available output of human creativity to create something new? How does these tools enable others to create that don’t have the skills or resources to make digital art but have great ideas?

How do we make sure artist can keep creating and making a living? How does the idea that “Everything is a Remix” (@kirbyferguson.bsky.social) which I firmly believe sit with us when the Remixing is done through AI? Is prompting creative? Is it art? What even matters anymore?

I’ve run my creative studio for 14 years and I am both delighted and horrified by what AI image generation tools can create. This ChatGPT Ghibli output is so clearly trained by mass copyright infringement but you can’t put the genie back in the bottle so what’s next?
