Fun fact: American businesses are the ones actually paying the tariffs. And a few months later you all get to pay them too. Don't believe Trump when he says we're making billions off of other countries.

Our upcoming Maternity Lab Coat was just featured in @chemistryworld.com . We hope this is one more small friction point we've solved to help our scientists keep doing great science!

Oversized lab coats held in place with elastic bands, Frankenstein creations made by stitching two lab coats together or leaving the lab altogether. These have been the options for pregnant women in the lab. @geniuslabgear.bsky.social now wants to change this with the launch of a maternity lab coat.

With a new round of terminations, I wanted to reshare this. I'm a reporter with @cenmag.bsky.social looking to hear from researchers impacted. Contact info ⬇️
‪If you're a researcher with an NSF grant that has been terminated or with a proposal now stuck in limbo, I'd like to hear from you.

My signal is kvasquez.12. Anonymity is always an option.
NSF announced that it has begun terminating awards. It's unclear how many affected. Sources say it could be over 200

It's also re-reviewing proposals that had already been approved for funding

Quotes from scientists on Reddit made this the most powerful post I've made about the devastating cuts so far.

Include personal stories and humanize the "ivory tower lab coats" and your own posts will break out of your echo chamber.

It’s cool how the folks training the AIs don’t worry about stealing the training data & the folks using the AIs don’t worry about the energy and water that consumes.

Forget all your worries with AI!

If so, reach out. DM, email (k_vasquez@acs.org) or Signal (kvasquez.12)

When the government "wastes" money on things like spaceflight, regulatory studies, or research, where does everyone think that money is going?

Most of it is spent paying citizens for their time or things their businesses produce. Not burned in a pile. Reduced government spending isn't a 1:1 gain.
