Attaining 40 years earlier this year came the realization my beard is no longer the shade of red it was a couple of years ago. It definitely doesn't radiate as much as the autumnal colors behind me...and they don't make hair dyes for my color!

Some pictures I took on 17 April 2007, during the convocation and candlelight vigil held commemorating the 32 lives lost the previous day at Virginia Tech. I was a senior there that year and a rare event. 18 years later, I still haven't forgotten my coworker Leslie, who was among the casualties.

This is close to what Great Britain did with their criminals to the colonies (aka United States) until 1775, and then, subsequently, to Australia. I have an ancestor who, in lieu of the death penalty for stealing a shirt in 1773, was sent to Virginia. And they say history doesn't repeat 🙄
