I found that the ethical practices I learned in academia were invaluable in my work. Additionally, all my experiencing presenting data in academia gave me an advantage in the corporate world.

I started in industry as a Data Scientist at LabCorp. It was a fantastic way to apply my knowledge of the scientific method in a new environment. I then moved onto a role creating client-facing analytics for clients taking care of the underserved patient population.

I always knew academia wasn’t for me. I did the expected postdoc for 2 years. I enrolled in an MBA program to learn how to translate my lab skills into industry.
