Did you know they're kinda doing sunsetting again? The old guns will still be useable but the new guns will be markedly better.

I think it's the industry's way to justify the higher prices. I would've had a way harder time convincing people to play either game you mentioned if they were more expensive.

I recommend using mtg arena to learn how to play and get an understanding of what each color can do. Then pick a format that interests you like commander, draft, or standard and learn the ins and outs of that.

Most likely Dragon Age Veilguard, imo? Metaphor is fantastic, and Veilguard is just fine, so i think they made the right decision.
