By then the front and back glass has heated enough to often not need scraping.
What I did/do here is start the car and turn on the heat to front and back glass before I try to excavate it. I brush the snow off the sides - where I park the south side is usually the worst - then brush the snow off the hood and the roof as needed to open doors without letting snow in the car.
