PBS KIDS programming is genuinely higher quality than the kids shows on commercial networks, most of which is built to sell toys. Weather Hunters launched just on this month on PBS, and it's already the 6 year old's favorite.

I know we're all supposed to skate past ridiculous lies by people in power nowadays, but think about the logic of being able to choose which state you will live on the streets in and choosing Oklahoma. The weather alone!

It's interesting that of all the extremist ideologies floating around right now, memelord nihilism is the one that most reliably produces actual shooters. I hope our takeaway is to not spend so much time on the Internet and not let our kids disappear into it either.

The bad news is the University of Central Oklahoma appears to have turned its back on its mission to "empower students to become ethical, creative and engaged citizens and leaders." I don't know about AI killing us all, but I do think a significant part of AI's kill count will be due to tech, financial and political elites abandoning solvable global problems to chase scifi fantasies.
