@plusoneexp.bsky.social had the brilliant idea to format the book as a GM screen so you stand it up with art facing the players & text facing the ref. I'm glad I trusted his instincts cuz it's such a simple change with a huge impact.

Zed & Two Noughts cover brief depicting an alien craft abducting people with gory tentacles. Notes: Implied Horror (top left): large mound of fuzzy, wet, fleshy machinery with countless arms dangling beneath it. The mound floats and the arms are somewhere between organic/mechanical. Subtle/implied/obscured works well. Tap into otherworldly weird horror. Big Action (lower third): One young adult commoner has just been snatched by an arm and is being pulled up toward the center of the mound. In your face terror! Onlookers may be present and if so are scared/pointing/running away. Background: Smallest town or large village currently under attack. Again, implications work well here so only add as much detail as composition demands.
