While I can't speak specifically for Scotland, police records are pretty reliably a mess and the MDT vendors are often lacking.
Also, in Canada, we had a policy in 2016 where trans people were required to be tagged in police records in order to identify us (as untermensch?)

It seems like every second ad on Google's "Discover Feed" is now a scam ad that takes you to a website that looks like a mainstream media website (CBC for us Canadians) but is some kind of crypto / pig butchering scam.
i.e. variations on this over and over. Reporting does nothing of course.

If you are hoping to seek refugee status in Canada, this provides - maybe - a little bit of hope.
Bill C-2 and C-12 remain extremely concerning and would allow to Minister to do something like cancel all trans refugee claims on a whim.
Mentioning because there hasn't been a lot of good news.

It has been notably bad this week. I don't know how Google can say it is doing any vetting whatsoever when it's this blatant.
Not that youtube ads haven't been a low effort scam filled cesspool for over a year, but their discovery feed used to be better.

Looking back at the Hansard, MLA Furstenau was so, so correct in her assessment. Everything she predicted happened.
![S. Furstenau: Thank you, Madam Speaker. My colleague reserved his right to continue in the debate. However, he is occupied, I’ll swear, at the moment, so I will rise to speak to Bill 26, the Name Amendment Act.
This legislation is aiming to close a loophole that is claimed to have allowed a violent criminal to change his name. I think we can all agree that public safety is paramount to a well-functioning society. We fully support the measures to protect the public from violent offenders who are deemed to be a risk to public safety. We support the addition of a criminal record check, when name changes are requested, to allow for the registrar general to determine if a person’s requested name change poses a risk to the public.
However, we have some concerns about the legislation, the main one being the ambiguity of a “prescribed offence.” In public statements, the Minister of Health has listed three offences that would be included in this legislation. They include murder, sexual assault and sexual assault against children. Bill 26 includes two specific designations that would prevent people from changing their names. These are for a “dangerous offender” or a “long-term offender,” as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada. These additions make sense to us.
However, the inclusion of prescribed offence in clause 2 lays the ground for potential unintended consequences. I’m going to pick up on the comments that were made by the House Leader for the official opposition, in that how we proceed with debate in here matters. How legislation is brought forward, is introduced and is debated matters.
