We've been hard at work overhauling Warlord Protocol's combat system to include more interaction. And a portion of that also means giving each card type more defined roles within the game. The reminder text on our basic cards give you a window into the changes to come :)

The field commander is a 4 cost human infantry of the legacy militia. It has 2 strength and give you 2 resources when deployed to your field. You can exhaust the field commander to deploy a tactic card from the market with a recruitment cost less than or equal to the number of infantry you control. The field commander depicts a soldier clad in sci-fi armor directing troops on an active battlefield. Study the scripture is a 2 cost tactic card of the divine machine. When deployed, this card allows you to discard any number of cards in your hand to draw that many cards from your deck plus one. If you retaliate with study the scripture, you may draw 2 cards at the start of your next turn. Study the scripture depicts a female priestess in white, blue, and gold robes sitting in front of a holographic display. The display shows lines of code, schematics for mechs, and divine machine doctrine. Novice photomancer is a 1 cost novan infantry of nova genesis. She has 1 strength, and gives you 1 resource when deployed to your field. You can exhaust the novice photomancer to return any tactic card from your discard pile to your hand. The novice photomancer depicts a femal novan harnessing a sphere or yellow, green, and purple light. Her eyes are closed as she concentrates, a bead of sweat trickles down the side of her face. She wears a purple and white uniform with bronze armor on her wrists and shoulders. The enlightened augur is a 4 cost voidborn infantry of the awakened legion. She has 2 strength, and gives you 2 resources when deployed to the battlefield. When exhausted, the enlightened auger allows you to void a card from your discard pile to gain influence equal to that cards recruitment cost. The enlightened augur depicts a female voidborn with blue skin and silver white hair. Her arms are stretched out to either side, as blue void energy swirls around her. She channels the energy into the air above her, enabling her see visions derived from information consumed by the void.

It has been a long time since we posted anything about Warlord Protocol. A little over 3 years to be exact! We're now on bluesky after having deleted our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts. We look forward to building a new community here and on discord! Give us a follow to see cool stuff!
