If you are wondering about the source/reference, this is the First Law series from Joe Abercrombie - highly recommended. If you are an audiobook person, the narration is spectacular

Which national park would be the best location to host a Michigan game that might also have a bear sighting?

Tangentially related topic - did Michael Avenatti get resentenced? I saw it was scheduled for last week, but no reports seem to have surfaced…

Leah’s book is amazing - I expected legal discussions of case rulings (which are there TBH). But what I did not expect is a comprehensive, accessible history of the modern Supremes.

An easy to follow, and entertaining depiction of how SCOTUS has evolved both with and against popular sentiment.

Hi Helen - this seems like a good time to say I discovered your writing during COVID. You changed my thinking about cooking, which improved the results and engaged my family. We now talk about cooking/food together in a way that didn’t happen before. Thank you for everything you do.

What about some kind of ‘tourist subscription’? I dont want to pay $250+/yr for a subscription to the Seattle Times - mostly because i dont live there. But I do support multiple local (to me) publications. With proof of a local subscription, give me a few articles for little $ and I’m in.

I guess I should add that the park conversion is taking place on the extreme west side of the city. So which voters will should be heeded? Those most affected? Or the whole city? The majority was 54% citywide…

This is a really interesting topic - you are of course correct that the majority of SF residents voted for the conversion, but that vote is very geographically skewed https://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/joel-engardio-prop-k-great-highway-19903292.php

Not if the funding they need to run the trial(s) was coming from the US government - which this article suggests is the case.

Dig into this one a bit more. It sounds like the situation is more complicated. Bove told a group of career DOJ folks to pick someone to file or they were all fired. Won’t be surprised if Sullivan quits as soon as the immediate, contemptible issue is resolved

Lol - it does indeed rhyme… So many great choices! Elk Cove, Shea, and Domaine Serene are some of our favorites - enjoy!
