I think the Triffids series was my first taste of TV dystopia - I must have been about 8 or 9. My mum recommended I read The Chrysalids when I was about 10 but I had no idea that John Wyndham had also written Day of the Triffids (I thought it was just a TV series!). I read it not long after.
