I realise a lot of musicians take back to the stage late in life because of their rights reversion on recorded music. But surely if you’re over 55 and had a really horrific lifestyle when you were young… isn’t it a bit risky to go on tour?

I got shortlisted for a new fund! I am this level of excited about working with these people.

Back to cutting and programming this week! Start projects never to finish them it is the engineering curse.

I turned down a contract renewal the other day. I had felt consistently undervalued had to suffer disrespectful language was arrogantly told how much else everyone else was paid (a lot more than me) ignored, spent weekends clearing up after other people’s mistakes. I had enough.

Ali B Cloud are now autoscaling GPU demand for model inference. Really sensible why haven’t the big American Cloud Co’s thought of this? They are swimming in the wrong direction. The Chinese will win this one in the long run.

I notice some of the big corps have upped their game the last few years worried about startups creeping in on their patch. I used Ebay for the first time in years this last week or so and omg the experience is so much better. Same with NatWest’s mobile banking. They have caught up.

The US government has switched off the flow of economic data! Yikes! Then we know it’s bad but we don’t know how bad!

Am cutting at the moment and omg I am so hungry. I might eat my notebook and part of my laptop.

Thashed through a whole heap of tooling integration errors yesterday. Was too tired to finish. Cascading problems. Joy of coding eh?

"Most elements you create during API design are wasted. If they’re not validated by stakeholders, they end up being replaced with new ideas. What if I tell you that API prototyping can be an incremental process?"

"Living through the rise of a dictatorship just means inhabiting a space that is gradually shrinking. There’s no point in resisting, not at first. You just make do with whatever breathing room you still have—until you lose that too."

MCP is a standard. Not a revolutionary technology. Most of what MCP is was done in langchain before MCP. But MCP made a standardized interface.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) promises a new way for LLMs to use tools.

Chris Riccomini argues it mostly reinvents OpenAPI, gRPC & CLIs.
Resources = docs
Tools = RPC
Prompts = configs

So… could MCP have just been a JSON file?

Ah the Polish blueberries are in season. I’m not sure what they are doing to them over there but thank god we get the benefit of their exports. Just ate my way through a whole punnet. 😋🫐

Product/Market Fit feels like a final puzzle piece snapping into pace; everything changes.

If you’re wondering whether you have it, you don’t. It’s too obvious.

Product/Market Fit (PMF): Experience & Data
Companies that achieve Product/Market Fit -- both self-funded and VC-funded -- exhibit the same prototypical metrics curves and subjective experiences.

How was the Cloudfare AI crawler blocking not bigger news last week?? Seems fairly significant given how big a market share they have?

You should start a company if you’re unreasonably compelled to do it.

You haven’t stopped obsessing for a month. If you don’t, you’ll regret it forever.

Otherwise, you won’t maintain the motivation when you run into the next few years of emotional devastation.
