In the UK, I support only local, independent cafes. This one is Bruccianis in Preston, Lancashire. Inside, it's unique, with character. May have been an Italian ice cream parlour originally, I'm not sure.
Anyway, #JoinAUnion

My city, Preston, adopted the lamb for its emblem. Many other places may also have done this.
PP, which means Princeps Pacis (Prince of Peace) also stands for 'Proud Preston'). Image from Wikipedia.

US House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, earning plaudits on her pending retirement.
Here in the UK, we also had a great woman Parliamentarian.
Betty Boothroyd, brilliant Speaker of the House of Commons, kept control of arrogant MPs. (Yorkshire born, working-class, called a spade a shovel. Very humorous).

The Rogues Gallery updated.
All gone. There will be no more additions, sadly. We're too old, with no-one to leave a survivor to when we pop off.

The real Gem and Molly, adopted separately, were good pals together and good fun. Both gone some time ago. Their photos are on the wall (the Rogues Gallery) so I can smile at them every day.

My current reading: Philippa Gregory, well-known writer of fiction, is also a PhD. Normal Women is a mammoth work of research, with well sourced facts.
'Ordinary' women who achieved so much over 900 yrs (mostly Britain).

We lost our dog today (the one in my bio and pinned tweet). She was old & suddenly became poorly. Some people will say 'only a dog' and in the big scheme of things - hundreds of thousands of people being killed, massive destruction & injustice - she was just one dog, but she meant the world to us.

The black death definitely helped women. Shortage of men to block the women's progress.
See Philippa Gregory's history - Normal Women. ie ordinary women
in Britain.

Statue in Manchester, England of Gandhi.
As a boy, my dad saw Gandhi on his visit to Lancashire cotton towns. Our weavers understood Gandhi's position against our export of cheap cotton to India which undermined their society,, even though an embargo affected our wellbeing.

Is it the same as the last report commissioned by the RSPCA decades ago?
Please continue the fight on.

I've seen the new version. Almost as good as the bus station in Preston, Lancashire, England.

Interesting. Our rescue dog didn't do well in kennels. 5 years later, she still doesn't like dogs. Probably never socialised. A shame, but that's where we're at.
Her adoption photo.

Fascinating microscopic creature can survive anything.
When earth is destroyed & aliens visit, they will find the tardigrade - smiling.

Too many photos of cats today on Bluesky, so here's a dog. Bailey. She happens to be mine, and she's beautiful.

Dear @theipaper.com
You keep showing photos of the Pamplona bullrun.
Then you keep forgetting to show the end. So here are two.

Great resource if you love dogs. I bought this card from them because it applies to my dog (GSD type) as she is glued to my partner!
'I do solemnly promise to follow you anywhere'. And she does.

My Bailey. She is a good dog & very pretty. Knows how to keep cool in this heat. Sadly now 15 so we're at the worrying stage.

You may like this one, if you've not seen it before. Don't know whom to thank, sorry. Two bees asleep in a flower. Apparently, they get tired, and when asleep they like to hold each other's feet. Sweet, yes?

Has Trump had his birthday parade yet?
Can't wish him happy birthday, sorry, so here is a photo of Barack Obama.
