I don't get the whole OSR thing about never making skill checks unless you absolutely have to. Why? Rolling dice and adding some unpredictability to your table is fun. It's one of the main reasons we play the game.

It's definitely taken a more wholesome and cozy turn. Nothing particularly wrong with that but just not my vibe, and probably has something to do with the current OSR boom.
