That's quite odd given going to Meta's just trading one set of cons for another set of cons (both being a lack of morals)

Perhaps a sour taste left on the premise of decentralization during the Mastodon years? Some large communities there were rather quite isolationist

The fracturing is tiring

@wukko.me I think you'll like this Advent of Svelte event if you hadn't known about it already, a new feature being shipped per day (see the thread above for details)

So far, I'm pretty much happy with what we've been given here

Kudos to the people behind Bluesky, they've made a viable Twitter alternative that a lot of people want to flock to (pun intended); network effect be damned

What I wish Bluesky had are private accounts and bookmarks (with folders)

I know there's people who would appreciate being able to skeet only with their inner circle and not for everyone's eyes to see; you know those private vent/ranting accounts, right?

I really, really do enjoy that Bluesky gives its userbase more control from being able to subscribe to moderation lists to the ability to curate your own feeds

and with it being open in almost every aspect of it, there's less fear of losing everything if it fails (which doesn't seem likely)

I'm here because Twitter felt like it became more like Musk's personal playground, a reflection of himself manifesting into the site's policies and implementation

Mastodon wasn't as inviting or fun as I thought it'd be. I felt rather lonely there

Cohost is dead
