Did the accessibility options help any? They're not granular in the demo but there is a setting to limit the effects and camera.

It's kinda sorta the third person Metroid game I wish we'd gotten. Structurally a bit flawed but the game's vibes are rent free in my head. The music is unbelievably ahead of its time for being on N64, one of Rare's finest soundtracks and I'm glad I have it on vinyl.
