It’s July 4th - not feeling very celebratory this year…. At least it’s a beautiful day here in the PNW.

Well, we made it to Vancouver. We’ve been up for about 27 hours, so we’ve decided to stay the night in Vancouver at the airport Fairmont hotel. Fortunately our trip did not involve any crazy running across terminals.

Well, we made it to Vancouver. We’ve been up for about 27 hours, so we’ve decided to stay the night in Vancouver at the airport Fairmont hotel. Fortunately our trip did not involve any crazy running across terminals.
Yesterday we were in Koagoshima. We got lucky with the weather in the morning, as we visited the volcano which sits across the bay from the city. In the afternoon we visited a beautiful garden, we had a brief downpour of rain, but still had a really nice visit there once the rain stopped.

Yesterday - Wednesday, Jeju Island S. Korea. Absolutely beautiful. We visited “the largest” Buddhist temple in Asia, a really lovely botanical garden, hiked down (and up) to see an amazing waterfall, some basalt columns, had a Korean lunch and finally a local market visit. Nice day!

Yesterday, Sunday June 8 - Otaru, Japan was amazing. Beautiful weather, another Shinto Shrine, a very small fish market, an amazing “Herring millionaire’s” mansion and Peony garden, a tram ride for a fantastic view and a fun shopping street. A lovely day - Japan’s north island is so very beautiful.

Yesterday - June 7 in Hakodate, Japan. Beautiful views from the top of Mt Hakodate, some beautiful old government buildings, a very scenic park and a wander through the old warehouse area, turned shopping area.
