Last week Linda & Johannes from @gfz.bsky.social visited to scan the forest around the @icos-ri.eu EC flux mast with a LIDAR drone. All went well, so they scanned the young stand at the @lufluxes.bsky.social EC mast too.

And here is a short video. The campaign is part of a larger project that includes above and below canopy scans at various @icos-ri.eu Ecosystem sites. The terrestrial laser scans were done by @geikedesloover.bsky.social earlier this year. Read more in our previous repost from ICOS.

A nice write-up came out of a chat with the ICOS team. About using laser scanning to monitor forests at ICOS sites in Sweden & Finland 🌲

Grateful for the opportunity & the good field vibes 🧡

And that’s a wrap on @esa.int #LPS25! 🌎

My first conference: great experience, great people, great conversations.

Presented my poster on Friday & left with so many new ideas and connections.

Big thanks to everyone who made it happen! 🌳

Two inspiring sessions at #LPS25:
- Women Trailblazers
- EO for Everyone

👀 "We can be what we can see"
🧑‍🤝‍🧑Climate change = about people, not just data
🚺Proud moment: a line at the women’s toilets at a remote sensing conf!

These sessions are for everyone: allies matter. Show up, listen, support. ✊

Had a great first day at #LPS25! 🌍

Inspiring to see so many brilliant scientists at work, and especially incredible women leading the way during the opening session.

The first glimpse of the #EEBIOMASS results was an amazing surprise.

Excited for what’s to come the rest of the week!

🌲 Forests, lasers, ferries, fieldwork in Scandinavia at its finest.

Completed TLS scans at Hyltemossa & Hyytiälä (thanks Seppe & Kobe!). Now heading to Svartberget via a misty ferry ride. Highlights: golden pine canopies and vintage vibes.
