Embrace imperfections and impermanence with good grace and humour.

Some reading notes if you wonder who I am.

I don't do sarcasm, I find it disrespectful to my audience.

I avoid cynicism, I feel cowardly when I succumb to it.
nope, flip it :)

I'm saying I recognise that while you may live in the USA you as an individual may have a different outlook and opinion than your government. because that's what happened to me, so I expect it will happen to others.

I hope that helps

those "few voices" included leaders representing the country, who went so far as to invade other countries against the decision of the UN. however with the backing and support of my country - but that happened against my wishes - in case anyone is tempted to generalise all Australians were willing

you don't seem to be getting the news that EV batteries last a long time and are repurposed as grid batteries or recycled when obsolete.

to be fair, the USA has said that about many other countries in the past.

Furthermore, when warned about the dangers of division, corruption and hate the answer was often "trust our systems, there's failsafes, checks and balances"

American exceptionalism extended to believing it couldn't happen

Labor doesn't support it, you're just trolling

We can always do more, but there's a world of difference between the LNP governments then and what was likely under Dutton and the ALP

"The Silver City Energy Storage Centre will be able to store energy for about eight hours, longer than lithium-ion batteries, which typically hold about four hours of charge in large grid-scale batteries."

Broken Hill is flat and dry, so this is a variation of the pumped hydro you mentioned

what's with the virgin fascination?

FFS it's all mythology, delusional stories told to prop up a privileged power structure and to validate prejudices
December 3, 2025 at 9:59 PM
it's a shame you can't see or acknowledge the progress achieved in face of the obstacles

there's always more to do, always compromises to be made

to say that the current government is full of inertia is ridiculous and denies the progress made and hinders further efforts
