By negotiating and reaching a deal to open the government on these terms, Democrats have normalized and legitimized terroristic tactics that Trump and the MAGA party now know work to their advantage. They will keep doing it because it got normalized and rewarded.

I disagree. I think it would be better if all Democrats united and said: "Only a terrorist would force members of the opposing party to submit to their will by starving people to death. We don't negotiate with terrorists, so stop electing and empowering terrorists."
